This track helps you build a solid foundation, sets expectations, and gives you time to explore before the pressure of senior-year auditions hits. You’ll learn audition skills, try out material to build your book, and get experience with filming prescreens, mock auditions, and live performances through CAPbaret.You’re basically doing everything the Audition Program does, but in a more exploratory, lower-pressure way so that when senior year arrives, you’re ready for college or professional auditions. This program is especially recommended for juniors, and open to advanced 9th–10th graders ready for this level of work. You’ll:- Explore and start to build 2–3 songs and 1–2 monologues that could become part of your future audition book. For acting-focused students, begin building a monologue portfolio (longer pieces in contrasting styles) and learning how to approach them for both prescreens and live auditions.
- Learn a short dance combo and experience what a dance call feels like
- Gain audition room experience by observing and participating in mock auditions
- Perform in CAPbaret alongside older students
- Receive individual and small-group coaching in voice, acting, and movement geared toward where you are nowLearn the college audition landscape so you and your family understand the road ahead.
